Katherine Linggi, Esq., AWI-CH

Overview

Ms. Linggi is an associate attorney with Emerzian Shankar Legal Inc. 

Ms. Linggi serves as a workplace and school complaint investigator. Ms. Linggi investigates claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, sexual and domestic violence, Title IX, bullying and related matters.

Ms. Linggi has specific experience and is certified in the area of Title IX. Ms. Linggi’s training includes conducting investigations and adjudications for institutions of higher education in compliance with California Law and federal regulations. Ms. Linggi is also trained in trauma informed investigation strategies.  Ms. Linggi serves as a decision-maker/hearing officer, facilitates informal resolution of Title IX matters and other complaints, and serves as a school-appointed advisor in Title IX matters.  She also routinely advises in a wide variety of areas of education law and labor/employment law compliance.

For the firm’s municipal clients, Ms. Linggi also provides city-sponsored eviction defense services, including direct representation of tenants in court.

Education & Career Experience

Ms. Linggi received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from California State University, Sacramento where she graduated summa cum laude in the top of her class.  She then attended University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where she earned certification as a mediator.

Ms. Linggi served as a long-term pre- and post-bar law clerk with Emerzian Shankar Legal Inc. prior to joining the firm’s attorney team. Ms. Linggi also served as a Certified Law Student for McGeorge’s Homeless Advocacy Clinic where she received the Capital Public Service Commendation medal. She also gained experience as an investigative intern with the Sacramento District Attorney’s office during undergrad.
