Ms. Jakosa is a lead Human Resources (“HR”) consultant and paralegal with Emerzian Shankar Legal Inc. With over fifteen years of HR experience, Ms. Jakosa has a broad range of HR skills functions and has previously served as a director of human resources responsible for managing all of the company’s HR compliance. Ms. Jakosa assists the firm’s clients with day-to-day HR matters such as wage/hour and payroll questions, terminations, recruitment, diversity & inclusion efforts, and leaves of absence. She also directly provides support to our client’s workforce by handling on-site meetings for onboarding, terminations, disability accommodations, evaluations, and performance management. She also conducts HR audits, safety audits and compensation reviews to help our clients identify compliance concerns before they become problematic, and take corrective action in alignment with their business goals. Ms. Jakosa works closely with the firm’s HR law attorneys and assists clients in determining when an attorney consultation is needed to help manage budgetary constraints.
Ms. Jakosa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from California State University, Stanislaus.
Ms. Jakosa’s professional background includes exposure to HR practices and procedures in a wide variety of sectors including professional services, healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing. She is familiar a number of different HRIS and applicant tracking systems, and is skilled in talent acquisition, culture building, organizational development, strategic planning and succession planning, coaching, and benefits administration.
Having grown up in various areas of the country, Ms. Jakosa has been a long-standing member of the Fresno/Clovis community for her entire career.
